Kirsten Stoltmann
What Goeth Around Cometh Around
Kirsten Stoltmann
What Goeth Around Cometh Around

I have been a fan of Kirsten Stoltmann’s work since the late 90’s. Her work is juicy and hollers more answers than questions with a knowing, and determined dexterity.

Kirsten Stoltmann draws from her own experiences growing up in the Mid-West to articulate her feminist views about suburban culture and values. In her sculptures and photos Stoltmann brazenly confronts taboo and expectation with a witty irony and double entendre of visual language. -- Saatchi Gallery

Installed as the background to the “solo exhibition”, Stoltmann’s work creates feedback to the front space. Her video Post-Nothing, about living in the suburbs of LA, plays on a loop, while original artworks hang alongside ink jet prints of installation views at other venues. The setting is an abbreviated educationanal documentation of Kirsten’s work, placed on a pedestal. Kirsten is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
