I like to "play" with conceptual art, while exploring the nature of art. Glitter is the new grass is an artwork derived from the labor, complexities, challenges, and satisfaction of maintaining and establishing an art exhibition space within a live/work environment, and the ability to present this act as an installation with the integrity of the “conventional gallery”.
As an artist who favors to work through installation art I wanted to participate in SUGAR’s one-year anniversary exhibit under the pseudonym Wendaferd Gregory (Wendaferd is a childhood nickname used on rare occasions, and Gregory is my husbands last name). This allowed me the detachment from the pigeonholes that my birth name Gwendolyn Skaggs has taken on in the last few years such as “gallery director”, and “curator”, and partake in an exhibition as an artist.
