This series of drawings is based on a relationship with my family history and on stories adopted from others around me. I explore the demons that haunt one’s life from intimate and often dark memories, relating themes such as guilt, addiction, rebirth, loss and detachment. I am interested in the relationship between man and nature, drawing worlds where the forest can be a place for regeneration and strength, while examining the darkness and spiritual disconnectedness that occurs when this relationship is weakened. I use imagery rich with mystic symbolism and reference biblical lore and esoteric iconography, creating allegories for something mythological, entire narratives that blur the line between fantasy and reality.
